2008 Palmetto Amateur Tournament
The 33rd annual Palmetto Amateur ended on June 21, 2008, with a victory by Andrew Landry, from Groves, TX, who posted a score of 74 in the final round to go with previous rounds of 70, 68 and 67 for a total of one under par 279. Finishing second was Zack Sucher of Mobile, AL, with a total of four over par 284.
The return to Palmetto Golf Club was challenging to the field. The putting surfaces proved to be difficult to master in their first growing season, both for approach shots and for putts. We all look forward to some moderation before next year's tournament.
We are grateful for the major participation of TaylorMade as a tournament sponsor. Their participation included providing their Tour Van at the tournament site during the practice rounds and players were able to try out the latest technology.
